La Pedra Llarga
La Pedra Llarga is a megalithic menhir-shaped monument. Although its chronology is uncertain, it is believed to date from the transition period between the Neolithic and the Bronze Age, around 2500 – 1800 BC. ral group which entered through the north of the peninsula in 2000 B.C.
The stone of granite measures 2 meters and 3 cm in height and 2 meters and 5 cm in circumference.
Rovira i Virgili, in his book “Historia de Catalunya”, explains that it was located at the crossroads of the Santa Coloma de Farners road in Sant Hilari and Vic. Due to its location, it seems that it was a landmark to mark the territorial limits . The menhir had to be moved to the current location when the current roads were built.
