Sant Hilari Sacalm

The name of the town was given after a French bishop and a writer who lived during the 4th century, Saint Hilary of Poitiers. In 879, the current town was repopulated by the Franks, who, in honour of Saint Hilary of Poitiers, gave his name to the town.

As for Sacalm, the town gets this distinction because of its location on a plain.
